Happy October!

October is my favorite, favorite, favorite month of the year. It's the peak of Fall amazingness, it's Halloween, it's our anniversary, it's PERFECT.

This month, we will wear lots of festive outfits, witch hats & Halloween costumes.
We will watch scary movies, cover our eyes & then just put in Hocus Pocus for the five thousandth time. We will eat pumpkin spice cupcakes & chocolate pumpkin muffins. We will save the pumpkin beer for next year.
We will go pumpkin picking, apple picking & baby name picking.
We we will carve pumpkins, paint pumpkins & then use pumpkins for target practice so we can make room for Christmas decorations.

And, of course, we will eat our weight in yummy Fall inspired foods.

This little toddler style candy corn was made up of mango, oranges & bananas. Gotta make sure Harper doesn't miss out on any festive snacks! I know she isn't really old enough to remember, but it makes my heart happy as a mama to do things like this for her.

Happy October to you all!

  61. When I see all these adorable pictures of your little girl, I sometimes wonder "in Harper's high school yearbook, when each parent submits a picture of their student as a baby, how the heck will she choose one!?" Do you ever wonder this? Or do you already have an absolute favorite picked out? It seems like the kind of thing you might plan approximately 17 years in advance.

I hope I didn't just jenix myself!!! lol I couldn't resist. I'd buy so much more girl things but I really want to wait till I know the sex of the baby and I hate to buy a lot of girl things and then have to return them or give them away, with my past pregnancies it made me sad that I couldn't use them!! :( lol We shall see if I just blew it!!! lol

  70. I think you're rubbing off on me. I pretty much felt like yesterday was a holiday, simply because it was the first day of October!
We kicked off the day with a leftover pumpkin pancake for Ruby, and a pumpkin bagel with pumpkin cream cheese for me. I then dressed my girl in orange & black striped leggings, a Halloween tee, and a witch hat clip (which we exchanged for her crocheted pumpkin hat when we were outside). Oh yeah, and jack o lantern sippy cups were used as well! Bring it, October!!!

On an unrelated note, did you discontinue your wagon wheel chalkboard print? I went to buy it for Ruby's room (since I always sing that to her) and couldn't find it! =(

  81. My mom always made a big deal when it came to all the holidays and esp with our birthdays. Since, I lost my mom at the age of 11 holidays and bdays are some of the only memories I have of her. Now that I am a mom I'm always trying to do creative things and have Elle help me decorate (at least try).
I will have to make Elle this snack! SHe is obsessed with her PBK Halloween placemate, cup, plate and silverware. At least she has gotten over only having her green plate. Green is her favorite color.
    Happy Fall!
